Energy law is our core strength. In the energy sector, we are well known for our pragmatic and accurate advice. We have acted for energy storage businesses, distributors, transmission businesses, and energy retailers.
Last year we acted in one of the only reported Supreme Court cases on the National Energy Retail Law. We have acted for embedded network operators in the drafting and review of customer and infrastructure agreements.
We have worked with the majority of new entrant retailers, obtaining licences and authorisations, drafting their market terms and conditions and other customer-facing documents. We have also assisted our clients to negotiate ISDA amendments and provided legal advice on the operation of energy law.
We have worked with Australia’s leading renewable energy generators including to obtain relevant development approvals, to negotiate network connection agreements, and to draft Power Purchase Agreements.
We have worked with network and transmission companies in NSW and Victoria, providing legal advice on complex areas of operation.
We have worked with 80 percent of the large embedded network operators including building developers and authorised on-sellers. We have provided advice on the exemption requirements and drafted all agreements required for this sector.
We have worked with over 75% of the energy retailers authorised in the last two years.
